Listen to 'American Idol' Alum Angie Miller Get "Lost in the Sound"
The season-12 finalist will release her debut EP, "Weathered," on Nov. 12
American Idol's Angie Miller went through her share of storms while crafting her forthcoming EP, appropriately titled Weathered. Due out Nov. 12, the season-12 finalist is sharing one of those new tracks, “Lost in the Sound,” with The Hollywood Reporter's Idol Worship.
“'Lost in the Sound' is easily one of my favorite songs on Weathered,” says Miller. “ I love how hard and powerful the chorus hits, as well as the interesting melodies and grooves in the verses. But more importantly, I love how transparent I was in this song.”
The lyrics, which begin with the line, “I’m sorry if I’m showing all my aggravation,” resulted from a difficult period for the 20-year-old. In Miller's words: "one of the hardest and most stressful times of my life.”
Miller worked out her frustrations in the studio with the Red Decibel team of producers, Adam Watts, Andy Dodd and Gannin Arnold, then funded the album through PledgeMusic.
“When you listen to the verses you can clearly hear how I felt at that point and the choruses tell of how I got through that time of my life. I would lock myself in my room and cry out to God for help. Getting 'Lost in the Sound' of God's peace was the only thing that truly got me through that time."
