Pia Toscano, Kris Allen Performing at National Memorial Day Concert
B.B. King, Gary Sinise and Forest Whitaker also taking the stage Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Former American Idol contestant Pia Toscano will take the stage Sunday at the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C. Season 8 Idol winner Kris Allen is also on board for the event, which will be broadcast live on PBS at 8 p.m. ET.
Additional performances will be provided by gospel singer Yolanda Adams, blues musician B.B. King and classical singer Hayley Westenra, along with the National Symphony Orchestra, the U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, the U.S. Army Chorus, the Soldiers' Chorus of the United States Army Field Band, the U.S. Navy Band Sea Chanters and U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants.

Toscano is presently work on her debut album, according to producer Rodney Jerkins. Jerkins told The Hollywood Reporter that he was in the studio with Toscano as recently as Saturday and that she’s already recorded “a few songs.” The sound? “It’s a big, diva-sounding record,” he describes. “It’s what I think I do best – that big Whitney, Mariah, Celine vibe. We’ve having fun with that.”
