Pia Toscano Reveals Post 'American Idol' Plans
Of getting eliminated Thursday, she says, "It wasn't my time...I was so emotional when it happened."

Pia Toscano got the boot on American Idol Thursday -- but she intends to stay in the spotlight.
"I want to cover all grounds. I want to do movies," she told reporters Friday during an Idol conference call. "I see an album in my future… pop with an R&B influence... Right now I want to be ready for the tour."
Toscano admits Thursday, "was a hard night for me."
"I was just trying to stay composed. I was very emotional, but I feel that everything happens for a reason," she says.
"You really don't know or say why I got voted off," continued the fan favorite, a native of Queens, New York. "You don't know why things happen. It wasn't my time…. At that moment I was so emotional when it happened."
But then she added, "It was my time to go. And things happen for a reason. So I'm going to stay positive… It is what it is and I'm happy to have made it this far."
She was heard crying after her last performance, "I'll Stand By You."
"It was hard for me to get through that song," she admitted.
She had a feeling she might be sent home: "I felt strange the night before."
Toscano is not bitter.
"So many good things [are] coming from the experience," she says. "I'm looking forward to going on tour with the other contestants."
Her immediate focus is getting ready to hit the road.
"Right now I'm getting prepared for the tour," she said. "Staying sharp, vocally ready and that's what I'm going to do right now." (She also admitted: "What a lot of people don't know about me is that I get shy and stage fright. I get intimidated but its something I'm going to work on.")
"I thank everybody for the support. It is what it is," she added. "This is my dream. My fans are my support.”
Idol judge Jennifer Lopez said Friday she was "shocked" Toscano was sent home.
