'Loving,' 'Fences' and '20th Century Women' won big at the awards show.
Loving, the story of an interracial couple starring Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton, took home the best picture honor at the 16th Annual Movies for Grownups Awards on Monday.
Also winning big were Fences, starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis (both actors received nods for their work), 20th Century Women for both best intergenerational film and best actress in Annette Bening, and Manchester by the Sea, which awarded Kenneth Lonergan in both directing and screenwriting.
Oscar contenders La La Land took home best comedy/musical while France's Elle won the AARP award for the best foreign language film.
The AARP awards were hosted by Margo Martindale at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Feb. 6.
