Drake Leads BET Awards With 9 Nominations

Drake is dominating the 2016 BET Award nominations, receiving a total of nine nominations, with Beyonce and Rihanna close behind with five each.

Drake, nominated for best male hip hop artist, will go up against Beyonce, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Bryson Tiller for video of the year. Newcomer Tiller, Chris Brown and Future are all nominated for four awards each. Beasts of No Nation, which won actor awards for both Idris Elba and Abraham Attah at this year's Spirit Awards, is up for best movie alongside Concussion, Creed, Dope and Straight Outta Compton.

The 16th annual BET Awards show will air live June 26 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The show, which honors artists, actors and athletes across 20 categories, will also feature a tribute to Prince.
