The Fast and the Furious franchise has seen its share of massive explosions and crazy car chases. In fact, if all its mesmerizing stunts were to happen in real life, the seven films' damage would total to $514 million.

With the anticipation building for the newest installment in the action franchise,The Fate of the FuriousTHR takes a look back on some of the films’ most iconic moments that have left audiences on the edge of their seat and wanting more.

Below, revisit some of the adrenaline-infused scenes that made the Fast and the Furious franchise speed its way to the top of the box office:

  • The Fast and the Furious (2001)

    Brian vs. Dominic Race

This first racing scene is pivotal to the franchise, foreshadowing what was to come throughout future installments. Beginning as rivals, Dominic Toretto (Diesel) and Brian O'Connor (Walker) race against each other, and as Brian’s car begins to break down, his commitment to giving Dom the best race he could makes this scene a memorable action scene for all Fast and the Furious fans.

  • 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

    Camaro Meets Yacht

In this scene, Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) and Roman (Gibson) take matters into their own hands as they attempt to board the departing yacht the villain takes Monica (Eva Mendes) on. In a thrilling moment, Brian accelerates for a grand entrance.

  • The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

    The Parking Garage Race

This installment of the franchise heads to Japan to demonstrate the "drift" technique, but things don't go so well for Sean Boswell (Lucas Black) who destroys some very nice cars in the learning process.

  • Fast & Furious (2009)

    Mexico Tunnel Chase

The drivers try to race against time and make it through this USA/Mexico tunnel, that just so happens to also be under construction. While helicopters hover overhead, they make it out of the tunnel just in time but not without unfortunate damage.

  • Fast Five (2011)

    The Vault Heist

To take down a criminal, Dom and his crew join together to partake in a bank heist. Using a latch and their cars, Brian and Dom are able to drag an entire vault down the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Brian and Dom drive alongside each other, with the vault following behind, destroying everything in its path (mostly police cars and sidewalks). It ultimately leads to the vault’s force causing Dom’s car to fly in midair and crash into a civilian’s car.

  • Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

    The Tank Chase

Along the Spanish highway, Dom’s crew is chased by a tank after trying to prevent a criminal from stopping a military convoy. While pursuing Dom's crew, the tank demolishes and mows down everything in its path, acting as one of the team's toughest enemies. Despite a passionate battle, Brian and Dom are able to take down the tank by causing it to flip over, with Dom saving Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) at the very last moment.

  • Furious 7 (2013)

    Abu Dhabi Tower Jump

The team heads to Abu Dhabi in this installment to take on Jason Statham's bad guy, Deckard Shaw. After crashing a lavish party and destroying the entire floor, Brian and Dom take the car out the window and directly into the neighboring high rise ... then into yet another high rise, all several hundred floors above ground.
