Mother Denim's new "Mother Lovin' California" initiative does good in more ways than one.
The California-based denim brand is championing a group of up-and-coming local designers by posting a curated selection of their designs on their website; they will be available for purchase beginning April 3. But that's not all. A portion of the proceeds from the web sales from April 1 through June 15 will be donated to the Surfrider Foundation, which works to keep California's beaches clean.
Founders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding handpicked the emerging designers, all of whom share their same ethos, with the hope of both highlighting local talent and contributing to the idea of a "collaborative" economy.
