Dwayne Johnson Leads Top Actors Chart for Third Week

Johnson becomes the first actor to reign for at least three weeks.

Dwayne Johnson becomes the first actor to spend three weeks at No. 1 on The Hollywood Reporter's Top Actors chart, leading for a second week in a rowand third total frame on top.

The Top Actors chart is a ranking of the most popular actors on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google Plus, with global data provided by social media analytics company MVPindex. The chart's methodology blends social engagement on the platforms along with weekly additions of followers/subscribers. The latest tracking week ended July 4.

Johnson is joined in the top 10 by, among others, returning stars Cara Delevingne, Ansel Elgort, Sabrina Carpenter and Robert Downey Jr.

"The headlines are true," he wrote on Instagram, "It's good to be Ansel Elgort." The accompanying photo? A picture of Elgort reading The New York Times' SundayStyles section, for which the lead story was an article titled – guess what – "It's Good to Be Ansel Elgort."
