Shop Talk: Luxury Online Shop William Vintage to Unveil Rare Vintage Versace; Monica Rich Kosann Lands in L.A.

    In a nod to the 20th anniversary of designer Gianni Versace's death, William Banks-Blaney (founder of upscale, London-based vintage shop William Vintage) will release 500 pieces by the revered designer on Tuesday, Oct. 10 available exclusively through the company's website, Marylebone store and farfetch.com. The rare items range from Versace’s early designs in 1977 to his final 1997 collection and everything in between — the memorable 1991 Warhol-inspired "Pop" collection, 1992 "Bondage" collection and 1994 "Punk" collection. Amal Clooney and Kate Bosworth are among the stylish guests expected to show up at tonight’s private launch party in L.A.’s Beverly Crest neighborhood, co-hosted by Banks-Blaney and celeb stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

  • Introducing Héros

    New L.A.-based fashion brand Heros by Joni Kilmurry (a former Levi's exec who once worked with celeb fashion stylist Leslie Freemar to dress celebs like Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron and Julianne Moore) launches Oct. 5. The three-piece, silk-charmeuse collection consists of The Shirt ($395), The Robe ($625) and The Jumpsuit ($745), personalized with embroidery by Joni to reflect the wearer's signature style. New fabrics and pieces will be added seasonally.

  • Haute Jeweler Monica Rich Kosann's First West Coast Outpost

    Connecticut-based fine jeweler and home accessories designer Monica Rich Kosann, known for her lockets, debuts her second freestanding U.S. store (and first west coast location) at Westfield Century City today, Oct. 5. Her designs are donned by Sarah Jessica Parker, Lupita Nyong’o, Carrie Underwood, Hayden Panettiere and Allison Williams. Decorated with Kosann's own photography, the boutique highlights the brand’s emphasis on customization with a Locket Bar where customers can upload photographs and inspirational quotes or messages that are resized and printed to fit into the lockets, which can also be personalized with initial engraving and a choice of chains and gemstones.

  • Shop Talk: Russell Westbrook Collabs With Tumi

    Out today, Oct. 5, is Tumi’s new 7-piece collab with Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook. The NBA MVP reinvented his favorite luggage pieces from Tumi (two backpacks, a carry-on, satchel, tote, travel kit and luggage tag) in an exclusive red camouflage print. The Tumi x Westbrook collection, $55 to $795, is available at select Tumi stores and tumi.com.

  • John Varvatos Fashion Show and Miu Miu Pop-Up Exhibit at South Coast Plaza

    On Saturday, Oct. 7 through Oct. 17, Prada's little sister brand Miu Miu will have a pop-up exhibit in South Coast Plaza's Jewel Court dedicated to the brand's iconic, crystal-embellished Miu Lady handbag, with two new colorways exclusive to SCP. The installation will feature two super-size versions of the bag and speak to its storied history. 

    Also on Saturday in the Pavillon at SCP — a fashion show hosted by edgy menswear designer John Varvatos, showing his fall collection along with a  7 p.m. cocktail reception and an after-party featuring a live performance by L.A.-based rhythm & blues band Vintage Trouble, benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation/Lady Ducks with proceeds donated to Children's Hospital of Orange County.   • Anna Sheffield Pop-Up, Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch at Platform

    On Thursday, Oct. 5, fine jeweler Anna Sheffield (whose clients include Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston and Olivia Wilde) pops up for the first time on the west coast with a temporary shop at Platform through Dec. 31. The New York-based designer (whose statement styles, including hand harnesses, range from $450 to $15,000) will offer unreleased pieces in this shop from her latest Flying Flowers collection and exclusive, one-of-a-kind diamond and gemstone rings.

    In other Platform news, multi-brand fashion boutique Reservoir opens doors this weekend, relocating from Robertson Boulevard. And rare sneaker online marketplace Goat debuts pop-up exhibit, "The Greatest: Los Angeles," an homage to 25 historically significant sneaks from the past 17 years including Air Jordan 3/8 Retro Pack Kobe Bryant, Air Force 1 Mr. Cartoon and Yeezy PowerPhase Calabasas. The exhibit opens Saturday, Oct. 7 through Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

    And then there is pumpkin-o-rama at the premier Mr. Bones x Platform Boo-tique Pumpkin Patch, featuring baby to super-sized pumpkins up to 600 pounds ($1 to $200) plus multiple varieties of gourds and squash, along with painted and glittered pumpkins and custom carved designs.   • Where Mountains Meet and Von Holzhausen Pop-Up Shop

    Genevieve Saylak and Corissa Santos, designers of New York-based, ethically conscious fashion label Where Mountains Meet (Emma Stone, Hailey Baldwin, Kate Upton are fans) will host a pop-up shop in Venice this weekend with Vicki von Holzhausen’s Malibu-based vegan handbag brand. Where Mountains Meet women's apparel will be marked 20 percent off and a complimentary Von Holzhausen Technic-Leather Pouch (valued at $55) comes free with the purchase of any handbag. The shop will be open on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (with Better Booch kombucha) and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (with beverages by Juste Wine) inside Parachute Home in Venice.

  • Doen Sample Sale

    L.A.-based boho fashion brand Doen (loved by Mandy Moore, Kate Bosworth, January Jones, Dakota Johnson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley) is having its second sample sale this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  and Sunday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

    Past season goods will be priced at about 70-percent off, while the current collection will also be on offer at full price to order (with no shipping fees).
