The nominations for the 70th annual Tony Awards were announced Tuesday morning by Andrew Rannells and Nikki M. James.

Hamilton leads the race with a historic 16 nominations, followed by Shuffle Along with 10 and She Loves Me with eight. Long Day's Journey Into Night nabbed seven nominations, making it the most nominated play.

Honoring the best of the Broadway season, the awards will be handed out in a June 12 ceremony at 8 p.m., airing live on CBS (tape-delayed on the West Coast) from New York City's Beacon Theatre. James Corden will make his debut as the annual event's emcee.
