'1600 Penn': Josh Gad's Magic Tricks Wow Everyone But the First Lady (Exclusive Video)
THR has an exclusive scene from Thursday's episode, where the Gilchrists' daughter, Becca (Martha MacIsaac), and D.B. (Robbie Amell) discuss the gender of their baby before Skip (Josh Gad) ruins the party.
Even the First Family has some awkward encounters, and it's magic that saves them all. Sort of.
The Gilchrists' pregnant daughter, Becca (Martha MacIsaac), and the father of her unborn child, D.B. (guest star Robbie Amell), have a semi-romantic meal at the White House, but Skip (Josh Gad) is busy attempting to wow them with his staple of magic tricks in an scene exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter from this week's episode.

As D.B. and Becca discuss the gender of the baby (D.B. says, “If she's as smart and pretty and intimidating as you, she'll kind of crush it in life”), Skip swoops in and tries to dazzle them. As if right on cue, First Lady Emily (Jenna Elfman) runs up the stairs and sees Skip attempting to wow the socks off D.B. and Becca by pulling the cover off the table without touching the expensive china.
And while D.B. might be sweet, he isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the room. When Emily comes in to “rescue” the china from further damage, he delivers this zinger: “Where do I know you from …?”
1600 Penn airs 9:30 p.m. Thursdays on NBC.
