ABC Adds Craig Kilborn Comedy, Drama From 'Pocahontas' Scribe
"Outsourced" duo Mark Torgove and Paul Kaplan will write and executive produce the comedy from the former “Late, Late Show” host.
As development season stretches into its final month, ABC has picked up two additional projects from its sibling studio.
The Disney-owned network has picked up the untitled Craig Kilborn project, which the former Late, Late Show host will write in and star.
The single-camera comedy, which falls under Kilborn’s development deal with the studio, will star Kilborn as an eccentric mystery writer who has “mastered the art of living” and finds his way of life altered when he meets the woman of his dreams.
Outsourced duo Mark Torgove and Paul Kaplan will write and executive produce the project alongside Kilborn, who is repped by Innovative Artists.
Meanwhile, on the drama side, ABC has given a script order to Two Crowns, from Pocahontas and A House Divided scribe Andrew Chapman who will write and executive produce.
Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Joanne Alfano is also attached to exec produce the ABC Studios project, which revolves around two powerful families who fight for control of the country.
Torgove and Kaplan are repped by UTA; Chapman is repped by Rothman-Brecher, Original Artists and Ragna Nervik Management.
