ABC Family has given an 10-episode order to one-hour drama The Lying Game, the network announced Tuesday.
The series, which is based on the novel by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard, revolves around a kind-hearted foster kid who learns she has an identical twin sister who was adopted by wealthy parents. When the sisters hatch a plan to uncover the identity of their birth mother, one of them goes missing. And the other must decide whether to come clean or find her sister on her own. Alexandra Chando (As The World Turns) stars as the twins.
The Lying Game order follows series pick-ups for dramas The Nine Lives of Chloe King, Switched at Birth and comedy The Great State of Georgia.
The series is producer by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Charles Pratt, Jr. (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives) is the writer/executive producer with Leslie Morgenstein (Pretty Little Liars, The Nine Lives of Chloe King) and Gina Girolamo. The Lying Game is expected to bow later this year on ABC Family.
