ABC Gives Another Go at John Leguizamo Comedy Pilot
"Kings of Van Nuys," passed over last pilot season, will get another chance.
ABC is giving another chance to Kings of Van Nuys starring John Leguizamo, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Based on the British format Only Fools and Horses, the ABC Studios-produced multicamera comedy -- which was passed over last pilot season -- chronicles the misadventures of two streetwise brothers (Leguizamo and Dustin Ybarra) and their aging grandfather (Christopher Lloyd) as they concoct outrageous, morally questionable get-rich-quick schemes in their quest to become millionaires.
The cast and crew will remain mostly intact for the new pilot. Executive producers Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley will pen the new script. Ted Wass directed the original pilot. Wendi McLendon-Covey and B.J. Bales co-star.
At Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour, ABC entertainment chief Paul Lee said that he was committed to the project.
