Australian Actor Joins Shawn Ryan's ABC Pilot 'Last Resort'
Daniel Lissing, whose credits include Australia's "Crownies," has been cast in the futuristic project from "The Shield" creator.
Australian actor Daniel Lissing has been tapped to join the ensemble of Shawn Ryan's drama pilot at ABC.
Last Resort, which revolves around the crew of a U .S. nuclear submarine who, after ignoring an order to fire nuclear missiles, wind up being hunted and escape to a NATO outpost where they declare themselves to be the world's smallest nuclear nation.
Lissing will play James King, a longtime Navy SEAL officer and lethal killer in his 30s with an ex-wife, ex-children and ex-life and no ties back home.
Ryan will write and executive produce the Sony Pictures Television project alongside Karl Gajdusek, with Casino Royale director Martin Campbell attached to helm the pilot.
ABC gave pilot orders to the project in January.
Lissing co-starred on Crownies as Conrad De Groot, an enthusiastic hunk in the Australian series. He's repped by Armada Partners, Rise Media Group and Stone Meyer.
