'All My Children': Sarah Michelle Gellar, Eva LaRue Catch Up
The soap actress tweets a picture of her reunion with the former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star.
As former All My Children actors continue to visit the long-running soap opera as it heads toward its final episode next month, former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar stopped in today to film her day on the ABC series.
AMC co-star Eva LaRue, who has played Dr. Maria Santos Grey on the series since 1993, tweeted a picture Wednesday of her reunion with Gellar, who played Kendall Hart from 1993 to 1995.
"Getting ready for our cheesy scene!!” LaRue tweeted Wednesday.
Gellar confirmed early this month that she’d be taking a break from filming the CW’s upcoming drama Ringer to film one day on the soap.
ABC announced Wednesday that its sibling network, SoapNet, would air a weekend of classic AMC episodes on Sept. 17 (7 p.m. to midnight) and Sept. 18 (5 p.m. to midnight) featuring Erica Kane and fan favorite couples.
ABC announced in April that the AMC, along with One Life to Live, which have seen ratings decline in recent years, would be replaced with less expensive daytime offerings.
Production company Prospect Park has since licensed the soaps for online treatment.
AMC will air its final episode on ABC on Sept. 23.
