If you thought the cryptic teasers for American Horror Story: Coven were creepy, you haven't seen anything yet.

FX has released the official key art (full size below) for the third season of the anthology series from Glee's Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk and it's a literal mouthful.

STORY: 'American Horror Story': Five Things to Know About 'Coven'

In the official poster, three women representing who we presume to be Coven's central characters (Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett) are sharing a snake bite -- only this one seems to be quite the charmer, as it makes its way in and out of all three players.

Coven stars Lange as a witch named Fiona; Bates plays historical personage Madame LaLurie, a Louisiana-born socialite and serial killer who kept slaves bound in her home; and Bassett portrays voodoo expert/cult leader Marie Laveau. Coven tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. More than 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials, and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind, and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves.

Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.

Coven, which co-stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Patti LuPone, Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe, premieres Oct. 9 on FX. Hit the comments with your thoughts on the poster. Are you intrigued?
