'American Horror Story' Ratings Continue to Improve
American Horror Story is solidifying itself as a hit for FX.
The first hour of the horror drama's Halloween special -- featuring the first appearance of Heroes vet Zachary Quinto -- drew nearly 3 million total viewers at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, rising in the ratings for the second week in a row. The series debut, averaging 3.2 million, is still the most-watched episode so far.
Among adults 18-49, American Horror Story posted its highest rating so far, drawing a 2.03 rating (or 2.2 million) in the demographic. In the younger adults 18-34 demo, American Horror Story again reached a series high, posting a 2.27 rating (or 1.28 million). Its lead-in, the premiere of Twilight, was the second most-watched in 18-49 behind Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
According to FX, only two of the network's dramas have posted higher 18-49 numbers in their fourth week than their respective premieres -- and both are Ryan Murphy projects: American Horror Story, up 8 percent, and Nip/Tuck, up 10 percent.
