No surprise here: NBC is bringing back America's Got Talent.

The network on Wednesday announced that auditions for season 11 would begin in November. The reality competition series ranks as the top show of the summer for the past decade.

America's Got Talent has been a cornerstone of NBC's summer schedule for 10 seasons. The reality competition show, hosted by Nick Cannon and featuring judges Howard SternMelanie BrownHeidi Klum and Howie Mandel, has regularly ranked as summer's No. 1 series. It's unclear if Cannon or which of the judges will return for season 11.

NBC has had success with its summer unscripted fare — including already-renewed American Ninja Warrior — as other networks go big with scripted comedies and dramas. While NBC has renewed summer entry Aquarius for a second season and is currently experimenting with comedies Mr. Robinson and The Jerrod Carmichael Show, the network has been looking at the typically lower-rated summer period as an incubator for fall or midseason. NBC originally bowed comedy Undateable and drama The Night Shift in the summer before moving them to fall and midseason, respectively.
