Anderson Cooper Announces Co-Hosts Kristin Chenoweth, Kelly Osbourne
The daytime talk-show host's new roster of sidekicks also will include Howie Mandel, Goldie Hawn and Erin Andrews.
Anderson Cooper is kicking off his first week back in daytime with Kristin Chenoweth by his side.
The Tony winner, who recently cut short her stint on CBS' THE Good Wife following an on-set injury, will join the reformatted Anderson Live as Cooper's guest co-host Sept. 10. Other newly announced co-hosts include Goldie Hawn, Kelly Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Howie Mandel, Erin Andrews, D.L. Hughley and Kellie Pickler.
The news comes mere weeks after the Warner Bros.-distributed daytime show announced a series of tweaks, including a new name, a new set and a new live format with rotating co-hosts, in its bid to boost ratings and relevance. The hourlong series found success when it experimented with the latter during the May sweep.
STORY: Kristin Chenoweth to leave CBS' 'The Good Wife'
Among the celebrity guests joining Cooper in what has become an increasingly crowded daytime landscape: Richard Gere, Beyonce, Jake Gyllenhaal, Claire Danes, Meg Ryan, Ben Affleck, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Kerry Washington, Kelsey Grammer, Carol Burnett and Stephen Colbert. It's worth noting that Jeff Probst and Katie Couric, both of whom have new talk shows launching next month, have stated their desire to avoid being a stop on the celebrity-promotion circuit.
"We've got a lot of fun, great things planned for the new season," said Cooper, who executive produces Anderson Live with Terence Noonan. "I am really excited to be joined by daily co-hosts and look forward to switching to a live format, which allows us more freedom to cover topical issues as well as connect more with the viewer at home."
