Andre Braugher to Co-Star in Fox's Andy Samberg Cop Comedy
He'll play the captain on the force, with "Parks and Recreation" writer Chelsea Peretti also landing a series regular part on the pilot from Dan Goor and Mike Schur.
Andre Braugher is heading from one force to another.
After playing a central role in the Navy-themed Last Resort at ABC, Braugher is heading to the NYPD, landing a co-starring role in Fox's untitled comedy from Parks and Recreation's Dan Goor and Mike Schur, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

In the comedy about a diverse group of detectives at a New York precinct, Braugher will play Capt. Holt, who finally has gotten his own command after 30 years on the force, and he's not going to let anyone screw it up -- least of all the station's top cop, Jake (Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg).
Parks and Recreation writer Chelsea Peretti also has landed a regular role on the single-camera comedy from Universal Television, playing Gina, an eccentric, civilian office manager of the 191st precinct.

One Life to Live alum Melissa Fumero nabbed the co-starring role as Amy, a smart cop and former middle school teacher. The Newsroom's Terry Crews co-stars alongside Stephanie Beatriz, who also will play a cop in the comedy from Universal Television.
Goor and Schur will pen the pilot and exec produce alongside David Miner. Samberg will produce, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street) on board to direct.
Braugher's credits include Law & Order: SVU, House and Men of a Certain Age. He's repped by WME, Principato-Young and Keith A. Klevan. Peretti, who also is a supervising producer on the recently renewed Kroll Show, is with WME and Mosaic.
