'Arrested Development' and 'Modern Family' Producers Reveal a Major Job Stressor
Young stars growing up can be tough
Aspiring TV producers, take note: Young actors may be cute and cuddly, but they can cause some major problems, as they all tend to grow up.
Modern Family producers Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd say with their ABC hit, they've had to adjust what works for their young characters.
"What used to be funny for Luke (Nolan Gould) is maybe not as funny anymore. So now we have to find our new Luke on Manny (Rico Rodriguez) or whoever," says Levitan
But sometimes you get lucky, says Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz, who jokes that the ever-youthful Michael Cera grew up ... but remained a teenager.
"Michael Cera started out as a teenager, and then he turned into a different teenager. That was lucky for us, but it's definitely not the same teenager," says Hurwitz.
The trio made their comments during a Hollywood Reporter photoshoot that gathered 24 legendary TV producers for one unforgettable class picture.
