'Arrow': Malcolm Merlyn Returns, Eyes Unlikely Alliance (Photos)
John Barrowman is back on The CW's comic book drama in Wednesday's episode, and his character will make a tempting offer to a Queen family member.
John Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn is back on this week's Arrow, and he's not wasting any time in Starling City.
After the breakup with Roy, the death of her mother and the discovery that Oliver kept crucial information to himself, Thea is going to seek safe haven with an unlikely source.
"All hell is going to break loose in the city, and Thea will find herself in a precarious predicament. She will be saved by her father," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said.
Saddled with the knowledge that Malcolm is her biological father, Thea is presented with an offer she may find difficult to refuse.
"Malcolm is going to offer her what she doesn't have anymore," Kreisberg hinted. (In the episodic still above from Wednesday's episode, "Streets of Fire," Malcolm is seen speaking to Thea. The image below is of Malcolm masked as the Dark Archer.)
"That was part of our math with killing Moira. If we were going to send Thea in that direction, she needed to not have anything pulling her back [to Starling City], and now she has a brother who lied to her and has done something unforgivable -- and no mother. On the flip-side, she has Malcolm Merlyn saying, 'I will never lie to you, Thea.' "
Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
