Art and John Linson Ink Overall Deal With HBO, Team for 'Yellowstone' Drama
HBO is going into business with Art Linson and his son, John.
The duo has inked a new two-year overall deal to develop new projects for the premium cable network, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Under the pact, the Linsons (Sons of Anarchy) will develop Yellowstone, an hourlong drama that explores one family's violent struggle against encroachment in southwest Montana. Yellowstone marks the first project to come out of their overall deal, the first for the Linsons.
Art Linson (Fight Club, Into the Wild, The Untouchables), John Linson and Taylor Sheridan (Sons of Anarchy) will executive produce the drama. John Linson and Sheridan are co-writing the story, with Sheridan penning the script.
Sheridan has worked with Art and John Linson on FX's Sons of Anarchy, where the actor, director, producer and writer has had a recurring role as David Hale. The multihyphenate is also developing Sicario with producers Basil Iwanyk and Molly Smith; Comancheria with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Film 44; and Warner Bros.' Dark Invasion, with producers Bradley Cooper, John Lesher and Adam Kassan.
The Linsons join a roster of producers with overall deals at HBO, including Alec Berg (Silicon Valley), Revenge's Mike Kelley, Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, Breaking Bad's George Mastras, and Russell Simmons, among others.
The Linsons are repped by Morris Yorn. Sheridan is with Gersh and Stone Meyer.
