Ashleigh Banfield is leaving CNN for a new show at sister network HLN.

The five-year network veteran is launching a primetime show Oct. 17 that will air live Monday through Thursday from 8-9 p.m. ET.

"She will bring her legal experience and views to HLN prime, tackling the day's most pressing social and legal issues mixed with her own passionate point of view and spirited conversation," CNN executive vp Ken Jautz said in a statement. "Ashleigh and her distinct journalistic style is the perfect fit as we continue to refocus on our news roots and increase our live hours of programming."

Viewers of her CNN show Legal View also heard the announcement straight from Banfield at the end of Thursday's telecast.
