20th Television is keeping David Feeney in the house.

The former Ben and Kate co-showrunner has inked a two-year overall deal with the studio, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Feeney (and John Quaintance) joined Ben and Kate in November when the studio inserted the duo to replace original showrunners Garrett Donovan and Neil Goldman, who exited citing creative differences with the Nat Faxon starrer from creator Dana Fox.

Under the deal, Feeney will develop new projects for 20th and join Fox's New Girl as co-executive producer for its recently announced third season.

"Dave proved himself invaluable on Ben and Kate, really stepping up and taking on a leadership role when Dana went on maternity leave. Although that show ultimately didn’t go the distance, we knew we wanted to stay in business with him," 20th Television chairman Gary Newman said. "Dave is one of those guys who is both incredibly funny and great with story and [executive producers] Liz [Meriwether], Brett [Baer] and Dave [Finkel] really responded to his writing. He’ll join New Girl, a show which is a huge priority for us, but we also look forward to developing with him. We couldn’t be happier that he is staying in the 20th Century Fox TV  family."

Feeney's credits include 2 Broke Girls, Love Bites and According to Jim. He's repped by UTA.

He joins Up All Night's Emily Spivey, Seth MacFarlane, Howard Gordon, Ryan Murphy and more at the studio.
