King will play Mrs. Davis, the head of human resources, who will have the unique pleasure of questioning Sheldon after the theoretical physicist lands in hot water following an uncomfortable conversation with his sexy assistant, Alex (Margo Harshman).
King is slated to appear in a January episode of Big Bang Theory, reuniting with Johnny Galecki and showrunner Steve Molaro, with whom she participated in a USO tour last spring.
She plays Detective Lydia Adams on TNT's critical darling Southland, whose fifth season is set to premiere Feb. 13.

King becomes the latest guest star to join the CBS comedy this season, following Roseanne alumna Meagen Fay as Bernadette's mother, Star Trek's LeVar Burton, Apollo astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Bones' Ryan Cartwright as Penny's new classmate.
King, whose credits also include Ray and The Boondocks, is repped by ICM Partners and John Carrabino. The Big Bang Theory airs at 8 p.m. Thursdays on CBS.
