The American Beauty actress posted the first snapshot of herself as Short on her Facebook page under the heading "Waiting to go on set."
Suvari photographed herself using a smart phone and a mirror, and wears a white robe. She's in her trailer on the show's set and sports the red lips, red fingernail polish closely associated with the Black Dahlia, aka slain actress Elizabeth Short.
Short, a 22-year-old aspiring actress, was gruesomely murdered in Los Angeles in 1947. She achieved fame posthumously when her story was sensationalized by the media, and she was dubbed the Black Dahlia. The case was never solved.
