Bones is bringing back a beloved guest for its 12th and final season.

Legendary actress Betty White has booked a return trip to the Fox drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

White is currently slated to reprise her role as Dr. Beth Mayer, the world's most experienced forensic anthropologist. She will return in episode 10 of Bones' final season after originating the role during season 11.

The casting comes a year after TV Land said farewell to White-starrer Hot in Cleveland, its first scripted comedy. The former Golden Girls and Mary Tyler Moore favorite most recently guest starred on NBC's short-lived Crowded, which was created by Hot in Cleveland boss Suzanne Martin. On the feature side, White most recently voiced Grammy Norma in the animated take on The Lorax. The actress is repped by APA.

The shortened 12-episode final season of Bones returns Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
