Brett Butler to Recur on Charlie Sheen's 'Anger Management'
The former "Grace Under Fire" star will return to series TV with a recurring role as a bartender on the FX comedy series.
Charlie Sheen is getting some fitting company on his upcoming FX comedy Anger Management.
Former Grace Under Fire star Brett Butler has booked a recurring role on the series, a source confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
In the series that stars Sheen as a former baseball player turned nontraditional therapist specializing in anger management, Butler will play a bartender at the bar/restaurant where Charlie hangs out. The series will mark Sheen's return to television after his notorious outster from CBS' Chuck Lorre comedy Two and a Half Men last year.
Butler -- like Sheen -- starred on a high-rated Lorre comedy, fronting ABC's Grace Under Fire from 1993 to 1998. Creative conflicts between troubled star Butler and Lorre, who clashed over the show's creative direction, marred the series' run.
The creator/exec producer eventually was removed from his day-to-day duties with the sitcom but remained a creative consultant.
Grace was eventually canceled after five seasons as Butler battled an addiction to painkillers, for which she sought help.
Anger Management, which premieres with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, June 28 at 9 p.m., will mark Butler's return to series television.
Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden and Noureen DeWulf co-star.
