Cam Gigandet to Star in CBS Legal Drama 'Reckless'
"Mad Men's" Michael Gladis will play the chief of police in the pilot from "Safe Haven's" Dana Stevens.
CBS has cast its Yankee litigator.
Easy A and The O.C. alum Cam Gigandet has been tapped to star in the network's drama pilot Reckless, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The sultry legal show is set in Charleston, S.C., where a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern city attorney struggle to hide their intense attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal.
Gigandet will play Roy, the city attorney. He's described as a liberal Renaissance man and father of two. His wife, Scottie, recently left him for a Florida developer and has taken their two children with him. He surfs and loves skateboarding and hip-hop but also fishes, hunts and collects guns.
Additionally, Mad Men's Michael Gladis will play police chief Knock, a family man and Roy's best friend since childhood. He's genuinely happy when Roy is appointed city attorney and relieved that his oldest friend is representing his department on high-profile cases including the one at the center of the series.
Safe Haven's Dana Stevens will pen the pilot and co-executive produce the pilot. Ian Sander and Kim Moses will executive produce the CBS Television Studios entry, with Twilight's Catherine Hardwicke on board to direct the pilot.
WME and Luber Roklin-repped Gigandet's credits also include Burlesque, Priest and Twilight. He was previously attached to star in the TNT Western Gateway, which did not move forward. Gladis, repped by TalentWorks, Gallant Management and Loeb & Loeb, has also appeared in Eagleheart and the feature J. Edgar.
