The Casey Anthony trial turned violent Friday morning when a fight for seats inside the Orlando, Florida courtroom broke out early in the morning. Watch NBC News' video, above.

Each morning, people line up for one of between 52 to 60 available seats inside the Orange County courtroom. On Friday, police had to intervene as more than 100 people began screaming to get inside.

NBC News' Kerry Sanders writes that fists were thrown. Sanders also says that the scene has "become increasingly uglier" as the court case -- currently on day 21 -- wears on. The line outside is sometimes called "the running of the bulls" because people are not allowed to line up until 5:30 a.m.

The fighting appeared to be have settled down earlier this week when people in line agreed to write numbers on the back of their hands with Sharpie markers. But Friday, several people in line decided that system was "illegal," according to Sanders -- and that's when they began "pushing and shoving…followed by punching and screaming."

Police pulled several people out of line.

Casey Anthony is on trial for murdering her 3-year-old daughter, Caylee.
