CBS Casts Love Interest for Jason Lee in 'Second Sight'
"Hex" alum Christina Cole will co-star in "Second Sight," playing a detective on the former "My Name Is Earl" star's squad.
Hex star Christina Cole is heading to CBS.
The actress has landed the female lead in the network's Jason Lee drama pilot Second Sight, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on the U.K. series by Paula Milne, which stars Clive Owen, the gothic psychological thriller revolves around Ross Tanner (My Name Is Earl's Lee), a detective who is suddenly afflicted with an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations reflective of his subconscious. He discovers that catching the killer depends as much on insight as eyesight.
Cole will play Gemma, one of Tanner's detectives and love interest. She's pretty with a fierce anger streak who doesn't care for many but has a fondness and loyalty to Tanner, who once saved her career from an Internal Affairs witch hunt. She becomes suspicious when Tanner refuses to drive himself anywhere and becomes the only one who knows of his secret.
Cole starred in Sky One's supernatural drama Hex for two seasons. Her credits also include Silent Witness, Breakout Kings, Chaos and features What a Girl Wants and the upcoming Mutual Friends. She's repped by ICM Partners and Conway van Gelder Grant.
Homeland's Michael Cuesta will pen the drama alongside his brother, Gerald Cuesta. Both will exec produce, with the former also directing the pilot. CSI's Carol Mendelsohn will also exec produce the CBS Television Studios drama alongside Julie Weitz, Nick Reed, Phil Goldfine and Paula Milne. Cole joins a cast that also includes Treme's Kim Dickens, Derek Luke, Jill Scott, Erik Jensen and Madison Moellers.
