CBS on Tuesday handed out two pilot orders for the 2017 development season: 9J, 9K, and 9L and Mission Control.

9J, 9K, and 9L is a multicamera family comedy written by Dana Klein and Mark Feuerstein, with the latter attached to star. It is inspired by a time in Feuerstein’s adult life when the actor lived in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, sandwiched between his parents’ apartment, 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby’s apartment, 9L. The project, which hails from CBS Television Studios, attempts to set boundaries with his intrusive but well-meaning family. In addition to Klein and Feuerstein, executive producers include Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Dana Honor.

Mission Control, which also hails from CBS Television Studios, centers on the next generation of NASA astronauts and scientists juggling both their personal and professional lives during a critical mission with no margin for error. Andy Weir will pen the script and produce alongside Courtney Conte and Quan Phung, Simon Kinberg, Aditya Sood and Charles Eglee.

It's worth noting that NBC previously had a show titled Mission Control, but the network canceled before it premiered.
