CBS Picks Up Greg Berlanti, Greg Malins Multicamera Comedy
The project marks the first foray into the half-hour format for the "Brothers & Sisters" alum.
CBS has committed to produce a half-hour multicamera comedy from Greg Berlanti and Greg Malins revolving around a womanizer who begins pursuing a woman he thinks is “the one.”
The project marks Berlanti’s first entry into comedy after writing and executive producing a string of hourlong dramas including Brothers & Sisters, No Ordinary Family, Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money and Everwood.
Berlanti will write and executive produce the comedy with Malins, whose credits include How I Met Your Mother, Better With You and Friends.
The Warner Bros. TV project revolves around Nick, a womanizer who realizes that his ex-girlfriend/best friend/business partner Wendy is “the one.”
Berlanti also has a cop drama set up at CBS this development season with NYPD Blue writer-producer Nicholas Wootton on board to pen the WBTV-based project as well as legal drama Guilty set up at Fox with his No Ordinary Family partner Marc Guggenheim.
Malins, meanwhile, is attached to a workplace comedy set up at CBS with Cougar Town creator Bill Lawrence.
Berlanti’s No Ordinary Family was canceled at ABC in May following its one-season run on the network.
