CBS Schedules 'The Good Wife' Special With Season 3 Sneak Peek
In preparation for the drama's new Sunday time slot, the network announces a half-hour catch-up prior to the Sept. 25 return.
CBS is readying the new time slot launch of The Good Wife with a special.
The critically-acclaimed drama has aired on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. for the past two seasons, but earlier this year, the network announced a scheduling move that put The Good Wife on Sundays at 9 p.m. -- pitting it against the final season of Desperate Housewives and Sunday night football on NBC.
In preparation for the move, CBS has scheduled a half-hour catch-up special, The Good Wife: A New Beginning, on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 9:30 p.m. with interviews from the executive producers and stars of the show, footage and storylines from the last two seasons. A sneak peek at scenes from the third season premiere will also be included.
"At first, I was taken aback, because you always think a move is a bad sign, and then I started thinking about it, and this was all in the span of five minutes. I was like wait, Sunday nights at 9, that was the Sopranos' spot," Julianna Margulies said earlier this year of the move. That's my favorite time to watch television. Hold on a minute, this opens up a whole door to the kinds of people that we want to attract to our show -- a younger audience and an older audience, because younger people can stay up at 9, and older people can stay up at 9."
The Good Wife launches its new season on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
