CBS Orders Chuck Lorre's 'Mom,' Robin Williams' 'Crazy Ones,' Will Arnett Comedy, More
Among the network's six series orders are Jerry Bruckheimer's Toni Collette drama "Hostages" and Josh Holloway starrer "Intelligence."
With few holes to fill on its schedule, CBS on Friday added at least six new series.
The No. 1 network handed out series orders for two dramas, Josh Holloway's Intelligence and Jerry Bruckheimer's Toni Collette starrer Hostages, as well as four comedies. The latter doubles last year's comedy orders, which included since-canceled Partners and never-aired Friend Me. Among this season's half-hours: Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar vehicle Crazy Ones, Greg Garcia's Will Arnett comedy The Millers and Chuck Lorre's multicamera comedy Mom.
For Lorre, this will mean CBS' 2013-14 season will feature four of his shows. Mike and Molly, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men have already been renewed, with Anna Faris starrer Mom considered a front-runner since it was ordered to pilot based on a spec in August. For Crazy Ones creator David E. Kelley, the news comes shortly after TNT canceled his freshman medical drama Monday Mornings.
