Chris Pine and Hulu Team for Robert F. Kennedy Limited Series
Chris Pine's TV prospects continue to expand.
The actor, who is set to headline the TNT drama One Day She'll Darken, is attached to play politician Robert F. Kennedy in a limited series in the works at Hulu, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
From Bloodline co-creator Todd E. Kessler, the untitled drama is based on Larry Tye's 2016 biography Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon. For the book, which charts Kennedy's political career from his start as an aide for Sen. Joseph McCarthy to his untimely death in 1968 during his presidential campaign, Tye interviewed those closest to Kennedy, including his widow and his sister, and also drew from unpublished memoirs and unreleased government files.
Kessler would exec produce with Pine, Tye, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett. The project hails from Sony Pictures Television and Overbook Entertainment.
Pine is fresh off the box-office blockbuster Wonder Woman. He will reunite with director Patty Jenkins on the TNT six-episode drama One Day She'll Darken, which hails from Jenkins' husband, author Sam Sheridan. His other upcoming projects include Disney's A Wrinkle in Time adaptation.
Kessler, meanwhile, wrapped Netflix's Bloodline after three seasons. He co-created the dark family drama, as well as Damages, with his brother Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman.
Pine follows a long line of actors who have played Kennedy, including Martin Sheen, Jeffrey Donovan, Barry Pepper and most recently Peter Sarsgaard in Jackie.
