'Chuck' Series Finale: Chuck and Sarah Kiss Goodbye and Hello
In a twisted turn of events that challenges the spy couple's future together, the NBC series ends its run on a hopeful note.
Casey, is something in your eye? Aw, tough guy.
Note: Spoilers, if you haven't watched Friday's series finale, "Chuck Versus Sarah" and "Chuck Versus the Goodbye."

NBC’s spy series Chuck made its final twisted goodbye to its fans with Friday’s two-hour series finale. The two back-to-back episodes had Chuck (Zachary Levi) battling Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and then that damn goodbye.
When the ride starts, Sarah returns from being captured by the series’ final villain, Quinn (Angus MacFayden). But not before he has convinced the sexy spy, who had lost all her memories of the past five years to the faulty intersect, that her mission is to retrieve the intersect glasses and kill Chuck.
Without going into a blow-by-blow of the episode, what really counts is that Sarah comes around to realizing that Chuck isn’t her enemy. Yet, the memories of their love affair are like stories from another person’s life as she doesn’t feel the emotions associated with them.

That’s the tragic part of the story Strahovski has gone on record as originally being against. And after five years of watching their love affair evolve, I’m sure viewers can understand where she was coming from.
What Chuck's writers and producers did was a twist on primetime soap Dallas’ “It was an awful dream, Bobby” reboot – except Chuck and Sarah’s relationship wasn’t awful. So, after going from them talking about having kids just a few episodes ago to having her feel and remember nothing of what led them there is a loss that probably should be mourned.
Keep in mind, though, that Chuck’s friends and family are moving on with their lives as if the intersect never forced its way in five years ago -- Awesome (Ryan McPartlin) and Ellie (Sarah Lancaster) are moving to the Midwest where they could buy a home, Morgan (Josh Gomez) is moving in with Alex (Mekenna Melvin), and Casey (Adam Baldwin) is chasing his love Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss).

So, why can’t Chuck and Sarah rediscover their love for each other sans the spy missions as well? I, for one, can walk away with the belief that if Chuck could make Sarah fall in love with him once, he could do it again. Plus, this time around he knows it too.
