Cinemax is wasting little time in renewing one of its most-well-known series.

The HBO sibling has picked up Banshee for a fourth season, the cable network announced Thursday.

Unlike previous seasons, the fourth cycle will only consist of eight episodes — down two from its first three runs. The drama from exec producers Alan Ball and Greg Yaitanes will return in 2016.

The news comes as Banshee, starring Antony Starr, is midway through its current, third run, airing Fridays at 10 p.m.

Returning cast and crewmembers will be announced at a later date.

Exec producers include Ball, Yaitanes, Jonathan Tropper, Peter Macdissi and Adam Targum. For his part, True Blood vet Ball also has Fame-like period-drama pilot Virtuoso, exec produced by Macdissi as well as Elton John, in the works at HBO.

For Cinemax, Banshee is part of a roster of original dramas including Strike Back, currently in its fourth and final season; as well as The Knick; and recently ordered entry Quarry. The cabler also has The Walking Dead writer Robert Kirkman's Outcast, based on his latest exorcism comic book of the same name, in the works.
