Comedy Central Orders Pilot From 'Eastbound & Down' Producer David Gordon Green
The project centers on a former special ops agent who must adapt to normal life after being decommissioned.
Eastbound & Down consulting producer David Gordon Green is keeping a hand in television with a pilot order deal in the works at Comedy Central, a source with knowledge of the pact confirmed.
The multihyphenate, whose previous credits include Pineapple Express, would direct and executive produce the comedy project, titled Black Jack. The project, from his Rough House production company with Eastbound & Down star Danny McBride, centers on a former special ops agent who must adapt to normal life after being decommissioned.
The script was written by Michael Starrbury, with Rough House's Jody Hill and Matt Reilly serving as executive producers.
Green, whose film Your Highness, starring McBride, James Franco, Natalie Portman and Zooey Dechanel, bows April 8, is repped by CAA.
