Comic-Con 2011: William Shatner Surprises 'Psych' Fans With Special Message (Exclusive Video)
THR has the special video presentation featuring the "Star Trek" vet shown to attendees on Thursday.
Thought there wasn't a way to top last year's Psych panel, which featured a performance with Tears for Fears' Curt Smith? Think again.
On Thursday, Ballroom 20 attendees erupted with glee when Star Trek vet (and all-around geek king) William Shatner made an appearance during Psych's special video message to the Comic-Con crowd. It was announced earlier this year that Shatner would be guest starring in the upcoming sixth season as Juliet O'Hara's (Maggie Lawson) father in one episode.
The Hollywood Reporter has the video exclusively: Did you ever think you'd see Captain James T. Kirk with a pineapple?
The panel opened with creator Steve Franks and the Friendly Indians singing the beloved theme song, with stars James Roday, Dule Hill and company donning bright green sunglasses and providing background vocals.
Though no premiere date was announced for Psych, the cast did reveal some spoilers on what would be coming up next this fall. With Shawn (Roday) and Juliet (Lawson) now together, what does that mean for Juliet and Lassiter (Timothy Omundson)?
"My relationship with Lassiter, it’s grown because we had to get over this hump of being in a relationship with someone we don’t neccessarily gel with. Shawn’s No 1 in life," Lawson revealed during the panel.
And what about the faux Psych-The Mentalist feud? "Something tells me The Mentalist won’t want to take the 12 million viewer hit," Roday joked.
When asked whether viewers would see Chief Vick's (Kirsten Nelson) husband on the new season, Roday deadpanned, "Yes we will see Chief Vick’s husband. He will be played by Pitbull."
