USA Network Pushes Back 'Common Law' Premiere
The cable network announced in late November that the cop drama would launch in January.
After announcing a premiere date for rookie cop drama Common Law in late November, USA Network has decided to push back the launch.
Common Law, starring Michael Ealy and Warren Kole as a pair of dysfunctional Los Angeles police detectives in couples therapy, will now debut some time in the summer of 2012 after originally being set for a Thursday, Jan. 26 launch at 10 p.m.
USA will still roll out the second half of the current seasons for Hamptons-set medical drama Royal Pains and police dramedy White Collar in mid-January. The network has not announced a return date for the sophomore effort of mediator series Fairly Legal.
Of the cable network's current originals, most (Burn Notice, Royal Pains, Covert Affairs among them) have launched in the summertime. A source says the summer move is an effort to give Common Law its biggest possible launching pad during the year and is when USA's new shows have proven to have success.
