NBC Slots 'Community' for February Return, Sets Midseason Schedule
"Smash" will return Feb. 5, with the network also setting the series premieres for "1600 Penn" and new drama "Deception."
NBC has scheduled a return date for Community as part of its midseason schedule.
After yanking the series from its planned return on Oct. 19, the network has scheduled the Joel McHale comedy for Feb. 7 at 8 p.m., returning the series to its former time slot. The series will take over the spot now occupied by the final season of Tina Fey's 30 Rock, which will have wrapped its 13-episode run.

With second-year comedy Up All Night going on an extended hiatus from December to April/May to shift from a single-camera comedy to a multicam, Parks and Recreation will move up an hour to 8:30 p.m. starting Jan. 17 to help fill the void.
After originally slotting Community's fourth season for Fridays, NBC yanked the cult favorite and sophomore comedy Whitney from its schedule this month. Whitney has since been scheduled to take over struggling freshman entry Animal Practice's slot on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. starting Nov. 7.
Meanwhile, Smash will return for its second season and move to Tuesdays starting Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. Rookie drama Deception (formerly Infamous) is set for Jan. 7, Josh Gad comedy 1600 Penn will bow Jan. 10, and Eva Longoria's unscripted series Ready for Love is slated for March 31, with The Voice's fourth cycle kicking off over two nights on March 25-26.
