Corey Stoll and Andrew Rannells Tapped for Matthew Weiner's Amazon Anthology 'The Romanoffs'
Matthew Weiner's Amazon anthology drama The Romanoffs continues to expand its cast.
Corey Stoll, Andrew Rannells, Paul Reiser, Salem grad Janet Montgomery, Odd Mom Out's Mike Doyle and Turn alum JJ Feild are set to guest-star, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Romanoffs is described as an hourlong contemporary anthology series set around the globe featuring separate stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the Russian royal family.
The cast is led by Oscar nominee Isabelle Huppert, Aaron Eckhart, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Jack Huston, Amanda Peet and Marthe Keller.
In addition to reuniting with two of his Mad Men stars, Weiner is also working with more than a dozen behind-the-scenes alums of the AMC period drama. The Romanoffs marks his first series since Mad Men signed off in May 2015. The Emmy winner writes and exec-produces with Semi Chellas. Kriss Turner Towner, Blake McCormick, and Kathy Ciric serve as co-exec producers.
Both Stoll and Rannells are also fresh off TV series. Stoll's The Strain airs its final episode on Sunday, while Rannells' Girls ended in April. Stoll's other credits include House of Cards and Homeland. Rannells is also set to guest-star on an upcoming episode of NBC's Will & Grace revival.
In addition to The Romanoffs, Reiser is gearing up for the third and final season of another Amazon series: Red Oaks. The former Mad About You star also appears in the upcoming second season of Stranger Things, in addition to his Johnny Carson series Here's Johnny, which was set to debut on the now-shuttered Seeso and is currently on the hunt for a new home.
Montgomery headlined the WGN America witch drama Salem and most recently recurred on freshman breakout This Is Us.
Doyle is also known for his recurring roles on Law & Order: SVU and A Gifted Man.
Feild's other credits include Captain America: The First Avenger and Austenland.
The Romanoffs is set to premiere in 2018.
