'Covert Affairs' Books '24' Alum for Season 5 (Exclusive)
Actress Nazneen Contractor, who recurred in the eighth season of the Fox series, boards the new season.
Covert Affairs has recruited a 24 alum.
Nazneen Contractor is set to recur on the fifth season of USA's globe-trotting spy drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The actress will play Sydney, a new love interest for Calder Michaels (Hill Harper). Described as drop-dead gorgeous, discreet and savvy, there's more than meets the eye when it comes to Sydney, who begins enchanting Annie's (Piper Perabo) fellow CIA officer.
Covert Affairs picks up after Annie faked her death, changed her identity and went deep undercover in Hong Kong to defeat her biggest nemesis, Henry Wilcox (Gregory Itzin). The 16-episode fifth season, which kicks off this summer, examines the price Annie will have to pay for this risky maneuver and the implications it will have on her other relationships as she attempts to re-emerge into the world she once knew.
Contractor joins an ensemble led by Perabo, Christopher Gorham, Harper, Kari Matchett, Peter Gallagher and newly added regular Nicholas Bishop, with additional guest stars Michael A. Goorjian, Perrey Reeves and Amy Jo Johnson.
Contractor recurred on the eighth season of Fox's 24 and starred in Canadian series The Border. She had a supporting role in Star Trek Into Darkness and next appears in Frank Langella's Parts Per Billion. She is repped by Characters Talent Agency, Greene & Associates and Vanguard Management.
