The CW Moves 'Cult' to Fridays
The one-hour drama starring "Vampire Diaries" alum Matt Davis had been airing on Tuesdays.
After two episodes, The CW's midseason entry Cult is moving to Fridays.
The one-hour drama, starring The Vampire Diaries alum Matt Davis, aired for two weeks on Tuesday nights following Southern-set medical drama Hart of Dixie before the network announced the move Wednesday afternoon. Starting March 8, it will air at 9 p.m. Fridays, following actioner Nikita.
Encore episodes of various CW series will take over the 9 p.m. Tuesday slot, starting with Beauty and the Beast on March 5.
Cult had a mediocre debut when it launched Feb. 19, drawing slightly less 900,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49. For its most recent episode, it stayed relatively even with the premiere in the ad-coveted demo but dropped to about 820,000 viewers.
From Fake Empire/Rockne S. O'Bannon Television in association with Warner Bros. TV/CBS TV Studios, Cult follows a journalist and a production assistant as they investigate the fans of the series within the show (also titled Cult), who might be re-creating crimes seen on TV. Rockne S. O'Bannon (Farscape, V), Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Len Goldstein are executive producers.
