CW Sets Fall Premiere Dates, Opens With 'Flash'

The network will again launch in October and avoid the crowded landscape of premiere week.

The CW has set its fall premiere dates.

As in past years, the younger-skewing network is avoiding the crush of premiere week and launching in October, starting with The Flash.

The network will kick off the fall with the exclusive TV broadcast of the iHeartRadio Music Festival on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the same time. The scripted originals return with the network's most-watched series ever — The Flash — which will launch its second season on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m., followed by the fall debut of sophomore series iZombie at 9 p.m.

Arrow's fourth season will debut the next night on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m., followed by Supernatural at 9 p.m.

Thursday will feature the back-to-back Julie Plec block of The Vampire Diaries at 8 p.m., followed by spinoff The Originals at 9 p.m. starting Oct. 8.

New hourlong comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend — starring Rachel Bloom and redeveloped from its Showtime half-hour pilot — will launch Monday, Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. followed by Peabody winner Jane the Virgin at 9 p.m.
