Damages returns Wednesday for its first season on DirecTV and its fourth season for the series at 10 p.m. on Channel 239.

“As we enter the fourth season,” executive producer Glenn Kessler tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Ellen is really out in the world, interested in trying to make a name for herself. This season is about whether she will be able to do that.”

Rose Byrne as Ellen Parsons and Glenn Close as the morally challenged attorney, Patty Hewes, return for the fourth season along with recurring guest stars John Goodman, Dylan Baker, Chris Messina, Judd Hirsch, Fisher Stevens and Tom Noonan.

In the video below, Close describes where we'll find her character in the new season.
