Dax Shepard isn't sold on The Expendables 2 and its cast of retro action stars including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren.

"I think those muscles are all show, no go," the Hit and Run actor sniped on Monday's Conan. "There's no way their tendons are as healthy as those big muscles. They're 70 years old. I doubt in that movie you're seeing them doing that much sprinting."

As for the idea of throwing punches at Stallone and company, he declared: "I'm not afraid at all. I'm not kidding -- I'm not the least bit afraid."

However, he added, "I won't fight Jason Statham. Jason Statham: we don't have beef!"

Over the weekend, Open Road Film's Hit and Run -- an indie comedy co-starring Shepard and fiancee Kristen Bell -- ranked No. 10 at the box office, grossing a disappointing $4.7 million for a five-day opening of $5.9 million. Lionsgate and Millennium Films' The Expendables 2, meanwhile, held steady with $13.5 million in its second weekend for a 10-day domestic cume of $52.3 million.
